Eden Housing Secures Over $78 Million in State Funding for Affordable Projects

– Five Eden projects receive funding as State of California allocates $414 million to boost affordable housing and reduce homelessness –

HAYWARD, Calif., October 2, 2025—The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced earlier this month that it has awarded more than $414 million in new funding to support 30 affordable housing projects statewide, creating over 2,000 new homes. Five of the funded developments are being led by Eden Housing.

The Eden projects that received funding include:

“We are extremely grateful to the State of California for this funding and deeply appreciative of Governor Newsom’s leadership in prioritizing solutions to our housing crisis,” said Linda Mandolini, President and CEO of Eden Housing. “This investment is critical to moving these developments into construction or across the finish line. It represents a major win not only for Eden but for affordable housing providers throughout the state. We are honored to have been selected and thankful to our local partners who make it possible to bring these homes forward.”

HCD awarded funding through the state’s highly competitive Multifamily Finance Super NOFA process. Programs included in this Super NOFA are: Multifamily Housing Program; Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention; Joe Serna, Jr. Farmworker Housing Grant; Infill Incentive/Infrastructure Grant Program.

This latest allocation is the result of the State and affordable housing developers prioritizing the homelessness and affordable housing crisis in California for years. In 2019, Governor Newsom first announced this issue as a priority. Since then, California has made strides in its efforts to decrease homelessness through increasing housing inventory. As of 2020, $1.6 billion in funding has been awarded to support the development of 12,676 affordable homes across the state.
