Eden Housing Statement on the Chauvin Trial Verdict

The recent outcome of the Derek Chauvin trial may have served a form of justice, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Our hearts break when we see the prejudice that leads to gross injustices like the ones that led to the death of George Floyd. Eden’s leadership team wants to recognize the toll such events can take on our family here at Eden — residents, staff, and partners, especially people of color who have all too often been the target of injustice. The results of this trial underscore our mission to advance equity and opportunity for all. While we cannot stop all injustice from happening, we can cultivate a work environment and resident communities that dispel the traits that foster injustice. We look forward to sharing more about our progress in future communications.
