Originally constructed in 2006, Nugent Square is a 32-apartment, family community in East Palo Alto. The property is located in a primarily residential neighborhood on University Avenue. With the increasing cost of housing in the Bay Area, including in San Mateo County, Nugent Square provides much-needed  affordable housing for low-income families within the area.

Located on 1.02 acres, the site features a shared community room with a kitchen. The project also includes the corporate offices of East Palo Alto Community Alliance and Neighborhood Development Organization (EPACANDO), a local community development organization and co-owner of Nugent Square alongside Eden. 

In 2023, Eden and EPACANDO embarked on an extensive, year-long renovation of the property. The project features updated landscaping, a new play structure and bike room, and extensive interior upgrades in all the apartments, including new appliances. Additionally, we installed a new roof equipped with state- of-the-art solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations.
