As Mayor Ashcraft says, “[California] can’t boast about being the 5th largest economy in the world, while at the same time have thousands of our citizens unsheltered on the streets. We have to do lots of things, and we have to do them simultaneously.” Most recently, the City of Alameda, along with Eden Housing and Alameda Point Partners, broke ground on Alameda Point Senior Apartments, which will provide 60 new homes to seniors on the site of the former Naval Air Station Alameda.
