Affordable Housing in the Proposed 2017 Federal Budget
March 4, 2016
The NHC (National Housing Conference) focuses on advancing federal housing policy to help low and moderate income people, strengthening the nation’s housing finance system, restoring neighborhoods damaged by foreclosures and disinvestment, and building stronger communities overall that coordinate housing, transportation, health, education and energy policy. Recently, NHC held its annual budget forum to help those working in and around Capitol Hill to understand how affordable housing fits into the next budget cycle.
Joining host Joanne Greene is Ethan Handelman, Vice President of Policy and Advocacy for NHC. Ethan takes an in-depth look at the proposed budget, the budget process in this election year, proposed and adopted changes to the Low Income Housing Tax Credit, and advocacy opportunities for this year.
