Supporting Residents in Need: Eden’s Tenant Relief Fund
September 9, 2020
Thank you to everyone who contributed to, or shared, Eden’s Tenant Relief Fund. We are pleased to share that the first round of funds have been distributed to more than 450 families in amounts from $100 to $500. The selected recipients have expressed financial hardship related to COVID-19 prior to June.
Your kindness and generosity have a tremendous impact on the lives of Eden’s residents. Meet two incredible families who’ve benefited from this fund:
“Simply put, this assistance has helped us decide whether to buy food or not, at time when funds are very scarce. Although this may seem extreme, it is true. Knowing that we have been “forgiven,” for an existing balance has alleviated a lot of unwanted stress. For that, we thank you!” – Jamila Williams and family, residents at Sara Conner Court
“This season has been very different for each family, and in our case, I lost my job very early due to the pandemic. In addition to being part of a more vulnerable sector of the population because I have a history of type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, I am the only member of my family that usually works. I live with my wife and two small children of three and one years old. I appreciate that Eden has allowed us to make partial rent payments and offered us the Tenant Relief Fund program. There are so many people who have lost everything, and we preserve the security of having a place to sleep and spend together in this humanitarian crisis in a safe haven.” – Jos Rodriguez and family
