Project to include 272 low-and moderate-income homes
DALY CITY, California — The Jefferson Union High School District is thrilled to announce its partnership with Eden Housing of Hayward and The Core Companies of San Jose. The two organizations have been recognized for their dedication to supporting affordable housing needs in the Bay Area, and will be developing the affordable component of the District’s Serramonte Del Rey Neighborhood project.
Eden Housing has an extensive history of establishing strong collaborative relationships with cities and local community partners, resulting in the development or acquisition and preservation of nearly 12,000 homes throughout California. These efforts have positively impacted a diverse population of more than 22,000 low-income residents representing a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. Since its inception, Eden Housing has provided more than 100,000 individuals with the opportunity to call an Eden community their home.
The Core Companies bring an impressive reputation and track record for identifying well-located housing sites and securing challenging entitlements throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to developing and constructing its own projects, Core offers third-party pre-development, development management, and construction services.
Aligned with the District’s objective of expanding the Serramonte Del Rey Neighborhood project, including the addition of more housing buildings available for lease by the broader community, the Jefferson Union High School District is proud of their plan to redevelop this site. The partnership with Eden and Core will allow JUHSD to offer more than 13% of the total units at significantly below-market rates. “This rental housing reflects the District’s dedication to addressing the community’s housing needs. The District is genuinely excited to collaborate closely with these two organizations to achieve this noteworthy goal,” said Tina Van Raaphorst, Deputy Superintendent of Business Services for the Jefferson Union High School District.
