Eden Housing Celebrates Groundbreaking of Donner FieldSenior Apartments in Sacramento

– Construction begins in Oak Park to transform vacant lot to affordable senior apartments –
WHAT: Eden Housing is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction on Donner Field Senior Apartments. Scheduled for completion in spring 2027, the development will bring 67 new affordable homes to Sacramento for seniors aged 55 and older earning at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The project will be all-electric and is anticipated to receive GreenPoint Rated Gold certification.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
The heart of the project is a common greenspace that residences overlook; it will provide opportunities for seniors to socialize, garden, and relax. Adult-education classes and services will be provided by Eden’s in-house resident services staff in the community building. Other amenities include barbecue grills, a bocce ball court, a computer room, raised beds for gardening, electric vehicle charging, bike storage space, and central laundry facilities.
