SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA — Nov. 25, 2024 —Eden Housing is proud to announce that its chief operating officer, Shola Olatoye, has been named one of Bisnow’s 2024 Power Women. This prestigious recognition celebrates the most influential and impactful women in the commercial real estate industry, and Olatoye’s leadership and contributions to affordable housing have earned her a well-deserved place on this distinguished list. She was recognized at Bisnow’s Women Leading Real Estate event on November 14, 2024, at The Beacon Grand Union Square Hotel in San Francisco, where she also participated as a panelist.
Olatoye joined Eden Housing in October 2022, bringing a wealth of experience in the housing and community development sectors. As COO, she directs Property Operations, Human Resources and Talent Development, and Business Technology. Her work has been pivotal in advancing Eden Housing’s mission to create equitable communities through affordable housing.
Prior to her tenure at Eden Housing, Olatoye served as Director of Housing and Community Development for the City of Oakland. She led the team responsible for the plan that eventually Oakland voters funded with Measure U, a $350M housing bond. Under her leadership, the department secured six state Homekey awards. She also launched Oakland’s $48M Emergency Rental Assistance program, providing immediate rent relief to over 3,000 residents. Her strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with Stanford University’s Impact Lab, helped develop new technology solutions for affordable housing access.
