The Unity Council Celebrating the Grand Opening of the Early Head Start center at West Rivertown

The Unity Council will celebrate the grand opening of its new Early Head Start center at West Rivertown on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, marking an exciting expansion of early childhood education and family support services in Antioch.
The Grand Opening Ceremony will bring together The Unity Council, Eden Housing, community partners, local leaders, families, and supporters to celebrate the new center and the opportunities it will create for young children and their families.
Located at West Rivertown, 811 West 4th Street in Antioch, the new center will serve children and families, providing high-quality early learning alongside comprehensive health, mental health, and family support services designed to help children thrive during their earliest and most important years of development.
“The Unity Council is thrilled to celebrate the expansion of Early Head Start services in the Antioch community. We are grateful to Eden Housing for their partnership in making this new center possible. This high-quality program will serve 24 children and families, providing early learning along with vital health, mental health, and family support services,” said Luis Arenas, Chief Early Learning Officer at The Unity Council.
West Rivertown, developed by Eden Housing, is a 57-unit affordable housing community serving families in downtown Antioch. The development includes one- to four-bedroom homes affordable to households earning between 30% and 60% of the area’s median income, along with community amenities and dedicated space for childcare services.
The opening reflects a shared commitment to connecting affordable housing with resources that strengthen the entire family. By providing early childhood education within the West Rivertown community, The Unity Council aims to make essential services more accessible while supporting children during some of their most important developmental years.
