Comments 

When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. 

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. 

Media 

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. 

For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We only provide our Service Providers with the information necessary for them to perform these services on our behalf.  Each Service Provider must agree to use reasonable security procedures and practices, appropriate to the nature of the information involved, to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.  Service Providers are prohibited from using Personal Information other than as specified by us.

How we protect your data 

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of information transmitted to us.  However, no data transmission over the Internet or other networks can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  As a result, while we strive to protect information transmitted on or through the website or services, we cannot and do not guarantee the security of any information you transmit on or through the website or services, and you do so at your own risk. 

What data breach procedures we have in place 

Due to security reasons, we are not allowed to share that information publicly, however, we can share that Eden Housing adheres to industry standard data protection protocols and has in place an Incident Management plan that will be followed in case of a data breach. If such a data breach occurs, all impacted parties would be contacted by a 3rd party firm under the direction of Eden Housing.
