Eden Housing Celebrates 40th AnniversaryInnovative Partnerships Result in Affordable Housing for 58,000 People

Hayward, CA– The tremendous success of Eden Housing's four decades of building and managing affordable housing for low income families, disabled people, and seniors will be celebrated onThursday, September 18th at 5:30 pm at the Hayward City Hall Rotunda, 777 B Street (at Watkins) in Hayward. The public-private partnerships that have led to the creation of over five thousand high quality for-sale and rental homes in Northern California will be honored by residents, public officials, and affordable housing advocates.

Executive Director Linda Mandolini says that some things have remained constant over the years. "From the beginning, we've been focused on partnerships. We partner with cities facing increased pressure to find housing solutions, with home builders trying to meet local requirements to build affordable housing, and with the residents of the communities we serve."

Eden proudly provides numerous support services at its developments, including the innovative Digital Connectors program in which young residents learn computer skills to both assist their communities and better position themselves for the digital economy.

In its 40 years of service throughout Northern California, Eden has provided a roof for 58,000 people – the size of the City of Palo Alto.  Eden Housing is a non-profit organization and as the long-term owner/operator of its developments, is committed to preserving and maintaining its buildings as community assets and supporting residents with a range of services.
